Child Care Foundational Training
Funding for Free Child Care Foundational Training courses, which began in June of 2022, has now closed as of June 1, 2023. Thank you to the Department of Children and Families for providing funding on these courses. Over 9,000 individuals took advantage of these free trainings!
Please note: Beginning June 1, 2023 the courses will still be offered, but now offered at a cost. For more information see this email which was sent out to our mailing list on May 10, 2023.
The Child Care Foundational Training courses covers the following non-credit trainings delivered in an interactive online, interactive correspondence, and in-person format:
- Introduction to the Child Care Profession
- Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care
- Fundamentals of Family Child Care
- Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher

Creating a Wisconsin Registry account is FREE and is the first step to becoming a Wisconsin

Q4. How do I find my Registry ID?
With a Registry ID number, you can keep an online record of the training events you attend.
Log in to you Registry Profile to view your ID.
Q5. Will these courses be offered in languages other than English?
Yes, the courses will be available in other languages. Please visit the Wisconsin Registry Statewide Training Calendar to find the available courses and you may contact the DCF Approved Training Agencies to ask about courses in other languages.
